Entry requirements

Undergraduate Course Requirements

Domestic Students

If you are a domestic student you can apply online direct to UBSS.  Our friendly student service assistants will get back to you within 2 working days to discuss your eligibility. For domestic students there are four new entry pathways into your UBSS course:

  • Recent High School Leaver with ATAR (within 2 years) 
  • Transfer from other universities 
  • VET study pathway 
  • Work and life experience

Admission to the Bachelor program (complete 24 units), Diploma level or Associate Degree (respectively AQF Levels 5-7) require the completion of The NSW Higher School Certificate (or equivalent) with an ATAR of 67.95.

International Students

Students who complete Bachelor degree level qualifications from overseas institutions will be required to submit their qualifications for AEI-NOOSR assessment to provide a statement of equivalency. This assessment is also required to provide Credit Transfer for the UBSS professionally accredited courses. Applicants who submit qualifications that are not included above will have their qualifications considered by the Dean and/or Academic Board to ensure appropriate entry standards are maintained.

English Requirements

In addition, applicants who have not completed a minimum of an AQF Level 5 (Diploma) level qualification in Australia or completed senior secondary certificate in Australia, must prove adequate English language proficiency by obtaining a minimum score of from one of the following:

  • IELTS Score of 6.0;
  • TOEFL Test of Written English (TWE) 550 with a written score of 5;
  • TOEFL (Computer-based): 213; TOEFL (Internet-based): 80;
  • Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) “B”
  • Grade or Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) “C” Grade;
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic: PTE): 54.
How to apply

Procedures

All course and enrolment inquiries are handed by the Group Colleges Australia Admissions Centre. To apply for any course at UBSS complete the application form and submit via email to info@gca.edu.au.

Before submitting your application form please ensure that:

  • You have selected the course you want to study
  • You have selected the date you would like to start.
  • You have certified electronic copies of your personal identification documents, academic certificate of completion and academic transcripts.  These will need to be attached and submitted to the online application.
Letter of Offer

You will be contacted by one of our friendly admissions staff after submitting your application. Successful applicants will receive a letter of offer from the admissions centre which includes your course information and course fees.

Accepting Offer

If you have received an unconditional offer you can accept straight away by signing the electronic document accept your offer.  If you have received a conditional offer, this usually means you need to send us more documents or talk to the admissions staff on the details provided on the conditional letter of offer, to show you meet the minimum academic requirements to enter UBSS. This should be done at your earliest convenience.

International Students

If you are an international student, a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) will be issued upon receiving your fees. The CoE is required if you are outside Australia and intend to apply for a student visa. Please be aware that the processing of your visa may take 6 weeks or more. Study Intake Dates UBSS has three (3) intake dates per year, which provide flexibility for new students. Each trimester accepts new students at UBSS. New student applications should be received at least one week prior to the commencement date for each trimester. UBSS 2018 trimester commence dates are: Trimester 1; January 22nd Trimester 2; May 14th Trimester 3; September 3rd New students are to ensure they are available to attend the orientation prior to the commencement of trimester.
