Planning your Career

It is sensible to consider that type of job you would like or industry you would like to work in before you finish your studies. This gives you the time and opportunity to think about the types of roles and companies you are interested in, and to do some research about them. For example, an accounting graduate may have interest in auditing or taxation roles, and a BBus graduate with a HR major will want to secure a HR role in HR administration – perhaps with an interest in recruitment or Industrial relations (IR) as examples.  You should also think about the type of sector you would like to work in and why – such as the public or private sector; as well the type if industry that appeals to you. Remember accounting and business graduates can be employed in a wide range of industries (such as finance, education, IT, public relations, etc) as all industries hire accounting, HR and general management professionals to conduct their business
